Isn’t Ella’s little letter to Santa cute? I am not sure about a couple things on it. A cup for mom? A spoon for dad? I think she pulled that out of her butt. We were sitting at the kitchen table after dinner. I do believe there was a spoon and cup in front of her. Anywho, it was cute.

Matt called yesterday. (He is in Kansas starting an office up in KC for the next three weeks.) His father and him went to the humane society and looked at puppy dogs. While he didn’t find any in dresses, he did find a cute one! I am a bit apprehensive because I haven’t met the dog and it’s a little one, but I’m also excited! It is a little one year old poodle mutt named Ziggy. Matt said he was really calm and sweet and is lined to be euthanized at anytime. Well, we can’t let that happen can we? I know it might be a crapshoot with a small dog that is unknown, but I have lots of love to give and plus I think Prince Ziggy will look dashing with a bowtie.

A couple times now, Ella and me have seen the previews for Alvin and the Chipmunks. I never seen Ella laugh so hard about a movie. I think I need to take her. She keeps dancing and going “Bow-chick-a-wow-wow” like Alvin does in the commercial. I think it has replaced her last stripper move “Shake your Boobies”.

This weekend is slotted for our first official snowstorm. Saturday is going to snow ALL DAY. I went last night and bought an ergonomical snow shovel for me and a little one for Ella. I would be really excited about all the snow, except Ella’s superduper best friend at school is having her birthday party in the afternoon WAY out in a suburb at Chuck-E-Cheese. I hope to snow can hold off until the party is over. I don’t want to die over a mechanical mouse.

No new baby yet for Matt and Stacey. Hopefully this weekend the little stinker will get here. HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND FOLKS!

Oh yeah, it’s 7 degrees out. SEVEN. I think I will forgo the car wash I was thinking about getting today.

I want a princess Barbie with earrings, dress, necklace and bracelet please.

I want a letter box with letters inside.

I want a real kitty with a dress and a doggy with a dress.

 I want a princess doll.

I want a cup for mommy.

I want a spoon for daddy.

I was some bubble gum.

I want a toothbrush that makes noise.

Thank you Santa and Merry Christmas.

From,

Ella

Thanksgiving was fun and I’m not even tired at work! Yip Yip! I’ll write more tomorrow. Boy, looking at that last post it almost makes it seem I’m not very funny, and we know that is not true….

Well, in lieu of the holiday and the fact that I always leave a retarded posting up for a ridiculous amount of time (Old People, ahem) I’m going to try to leave a semi-normal post up the the long weekend.

Things are good here. Ella was sick with a PUKING bug this weekend and managed to get a nice variety of surfaces soaked with vomit. Matt is sick (kinda) and I keep thinking I have a Urinary Tract infection (update: the doctor just called to say, “No you don’t have one… you’re a crazy lady.”). I  was talking to my sister yesterday, and after telling her about my bladder woes she suggested that I change my blog to be solely about that. You know, some people write about knitting, or traveling, or recipes. I will write about UTI’s. Maybe posts about the color of my urine… you know that sort of thing. I could call it Chrissy and the Short Urethra. Okay, I’m sorry that is so so so so gross. I promise I won’t do that, and I’m sorry that this is the post I decided to leave up for the holidays. I have a feeling I’m going to regret this. NOT normal at all.

Let’s go back to Thanksgiving. I am really excited to go to Kansas today! My mom’s house is going to be a monkey zoo, but I love that. I hope everyone has many things to be THANKFUL for this year. I have a billion. And I hope this blog post isn’t something you were totally unthankful for. Happy turkey day!

I’m kicking myself right now, because it would have been really timely to post this blog on Halloween. This is something that is SCARY to me. I missed that boat…

Anyways, I work in a very nice older suburb area around Minneapolis, where the houses are expensive and the land is beautiful. It is very nice out here. Often, during the day, I head to a local grocery store to pick up lunch or for something work needs and I go to this little Mom and Pop place. It has a little seasonal decoration area and an area to sit down and eat from the deli. Like everything else around here… it’s cute. But IT IS SCARY during the DAY. Especially the parking lot. This place is a geriatric magnet and the handicapped stalls in the lot are highly lucrative. I have nearly been hit by an old person five times now and I’ve prayed for others lives more often than I can count. Little gray heads barely popping up inside huge Buicks and the old men staring straight ahead with their mouths gaping open as they drive across the lot. IT’S SCARY! Along with being scary, its also really annoying- I have to schedule out an hour if I am going in there, just because the whole freaking place is first gear. I love old people I really do, but lots of them congregating in one place is bad. And for my avid readers (ha!) and people with good memories, it is indeed the same place that I wrote my last blog about old people about.

Oh buddy, am I feeling guilty. Sorry I haven’t posted this week folks! Busy Busy! Let me give some highlights of the past seven days.

  • Had a really fun time with my SIL Heather and MIL Amy. Those two are a hoot.
  • We went to Mall of America, and messed around in there little ride area. It was really fun. It was hilarious to see Ella move from, “Oh my god, shopping SUUUUUUUCKS.” to, “Holy COW! A PLAYGROUND!!!” attitude.
  • On Saturday night we had a board game night. We played KERPLUNK! and Matt and Heather tied for first and me and Ella lost, Ella with the most marbles, SO the biggest loser. I go, “Oh, Ella’s the loser.” and Ella tears up and says, “Your a loser too, mom!” before she ran to her room. Though it may highlight what NOT to say to a 3 year old when playing a game and how I am insensitive, it was pretty hilarious. It’s true, I AM a loser.
  • On Sunday Heather, Matt and me went to the Frida Kahlo exibit. IT WAS AWESOME! I loved it.
  • Monday, Ella starts to lose her voice and gets a cough.
  • I have been insanely busy at work. Hence the no time for blog thing.
  • I am really exciting for Thanksgiving, and for my new niece/nephew. I’m really pushing for a birthday in the next week, Comm’on Stacey!
  • On Wednesday, we took Ella to the doctor for the damned cough and found out she has croup. THE CROUP. She is on the mend today and back in school. I don’t know if anyone has noticed but my little family has been nothing but sick the last month or so. I think that means Armageddon is coming.

Well, I have a post about OLD PEOPLE I will post tomorrow. Stay tuned, cause its a doozie!

The holidays are fast approaching, and I know what everyone is thinking… I wonder what Chrissy thinks about that.

First of all, I’m EXCITED! because its going to be my first Christmas in my NEW HOUSE! and Matt’s family is going to share that with us. We are going to go get a little Christmas tree this year and decorate a little bit. It’s going to be fun- Ella has never had Santa visit her own house before.

Secondly, I would like to say that I am boycotting Disney princess crap along with Dora and other corporate whores from Ella. Good grief- the kid is programmed to instantly want anything with a princess on it. We went glove and hat shopping and it took Matt and me 15 minutes to convince Ella that Snow White would not keep her warmer than plain pink gloves. I’m really trying to steer clear of all that crap.

Well, I had more stuff I was going to write about for Christmas, but I am at work and need to work. Weird… huh. BTW, I have a couple blogs lined up to write- I just don’t want to spoil people by writing them all down at once. But hopefully I am getting back into the blog momentum.

Last week, Ella walks up to Matt and me. Bends down and starts to shake her butt. Okay, nothing TOO out of the ordinary in our house. BUT then she started to say, “Shake your BOOBIES! Shake your BOOBIES!”

First I say, do you mean, “Shake your bootie?”

No, “SHAKE YOUR BOOBIES! SHAKE YOUR BOOBIES!”

Matt says, “Where did you learn how to say that?”

Ella says she learned it from school. Matt and me really didn’t know what to say after that. Maybe if we didn’t give it alot of attention she would quit saying it. Well, she hasn’t. I guess her and her friend she learned it from got in trouble at school for doing it (duh.) and I asked Ella what happened.

“Well, we are not suppose to say it at school, but we can say it to our mommies. SHAKE YOUR BOOBIES at your MOMMY!”

After having more conversations with her, she tells me that her boobies are her butt. I tell her that the word boobies sometimes upset people and she shouldn’t shake them. What would you say?

Also, Matt and me have a parent/teacher conference with her teacher tomorrow. I would really like to express that we do not teach Ella how to bend down and shake her boobies at home, but how does one bring that up…

Having a three year old is so weird.

100_1272.jpg100_1272.jpg100_1292.jpgFirst things first. My broken back has made a miraculous recovery. Doctors say it healed almost as if I just had some pulled muscles… weird. Also, I finally pulled pictures off of my camera SO be prepared for some picture fun!

Let’s see. This weekend was a blast. On Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch and picked up FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS before they rolled out of sight from the pumpkin patch. I forgot to bring my camera into the pumpkin patch, but I got a picture of Ella sitting in the backseat with one of the pumpkins!

On Sunday, we went to the HallZOOween (which was lame) but we got some pictures of that too.

Also, when we were driving around this weekend, we saw this sign. Double click on the picture as I am too stupid to center it.

No comment on that one, though it is weird that Great Clips promotes a drink like that…

Halloween was fun. Ella was a cute CinderELLA and Matt was himself a hobo. Here they are.

I sat at home and was dressed as a Non-diabetic person who ate lots of candy. It was a nice evening had by all. Also, here is a link to new pictures on my FLICKR account. There are a lot more pictures on there- including ones of the crunched up Kia. ENJOY AND CLICK HERE!

Diabetic for eleven years. Close to family and friends despite having to drive to Kansas (and beyond) to see them. Writer and artist of non-prolific proportions. Married for insurance purposes. Crafty in more ways than one. Believe in working for a purpose. Tendency to get into obsessive kicks about stupid shit. Love a good poop and fart joke (okay, I love bad one's too).
