I have no idea why I feel little desire to blog lately! And it’s definitely not because I quit liking to talk about myself so much. I still do- don’t worry. My mom is coming up to visit this weekend! And I might be even more excited than her four year old granddaughter. I am kind of afraid this will be the case when her car pulls up. IMAGINE IN SLOW MOTION.

Ella, “YAY! It’s grandma!!” She starts running towards her, arms spread. I run past Ella, shoving my hand on her forehead to get the lead so I can hug my mom first.

I’m not saying it will be a  highlight of the weekend but it very well might be a bit weird and painful for the kid. Cross your fingers I can control myself.

Yeah, I’m excited. I bought an Ipod for Matt for his birthday. It coming up here at the beginning of May. It’s kind of funny/annoying because that is what I bought him last year. He freaking lost the last one. It’s just one of those shuffles which are only 50 buck now! Wowsa! At APPLE.com they give you free engraving. Last year I wrote, “THIS IS MATT’S IPOD” This year I wrote, “Matt’s ipod, THE SECOND.” Let’s hope it’s the last of its kind.

Ella’s T-ball was kind of nuts. I complained alot about it last night. WTF park systems. Get organized. I’m irritated as you can tell. I won’t write the whole mess out though. Ella had fun.

Well that is a little nutshell of ’stuff’. I have been pretty busy. I think this whole Minnesota hibernation stage is over. Every thing seems to be bustling and busy around here, including me.

finish the sentence.

maybe i should go back on Weightwatchers. (How long did I hold out? About a week. ugh.)
i love the smell of lavender and my husband in the morning (I know, weird, right?).
people would say that i sing often and not very good.
i don’t understand why Ella hates pants so much.
i lost Ella’s easter candy on purpose.
my past is HISTORY.

i get annoyed at people who donate used underwear to a Domestic Abuse shelter. Come’on.

my idea of a good time playing pinball with Matt.
i wish I was in a hammock reading a good book right now.

DOGS are cute when they are someone else’s.
 Dust makes me sneeze.
tomorrow i’m going to take Ella to her first T-ball practice!!
i have low tolerance for whining.
i’m totally terrified of perverts. I have toured a couple caves to hide Ella in until she’s 25. I just haven’t found any good one’s yet.
i wonder why I like this state so much.
never in my life have used a bidet.
high school was pretty fun. I did what I could with it.
when i’m nervous my stomach hurts.
one time at a family gathering I drank to much. (Wha… which time?)
take my advice: There are always options. Even if they aren’t what you want.
Kids make me happy.
i’m almost always behind on my dishes and laundry.
i’m addicted to Trader Joe’s.
i want someone to scratch my back.

I have a mommy confession. My child does something wrong and I really have not tried to fix it. BECAUSE IT’S SO CUTE!!!!

Ella calls adults HUMANS and children KIDS. They are different things to her. It’s funny because she says stuff like,

“When I’m a human I’m going to wear tall shoes everyday.”

“I can’t wait til’ I’m a human!”

It’s so cute, she is my little alien. I really never try to correct her either. This gives me something to giggle at. What a funny little alien child.

The other day we were at Trader Joe’s! and at the store they hide a little wolf that the kids can find to win a free treat. Ella always finds someone that works there to give her a tip where it is at. So we find a girl that works there and Ella asks her where the wolf is. The girl told Ella to go to the help desk and ask someone there. As we walk over there, Ella yells to me, “WHERE ARE THE HUMANS THAT BELONG TO THIS DESK?” I heard like five people chuckle at her… and I didn’t say a thing. I just helped her find a human to ask.

Here is what I imagined happened yesterday.

SNOWCLOUD: Dude, I am totally going to blizzard all over Minnesota. It is going to be awesome.

RAINCLOUD: Hey, umm, but its April. I have been out of work all winter. Give it up, man. Let me come in and plaster them.

SC: No way!

RC: Fine, let’s just both slam them. We’ll call it your exit and my entrance.

SC: Oh hell no. I’m not exiting. I’m going to keep snowing until it is scientifically impossible! I AM A REBEL!!

Yeah, it alternated between snow and rain all yesterday. And much of the time it was both at the same time. It was my first time experiencing Snow Thunder. WHICH WAS COOL. Except I was in the bath tub looking at lightening out the window. Not so smart. Anyways, I am living in a slushy machine. And I think winter has made me crazy. First I start imagining a storyline between dead star-crossed lover squirrels and now clouds. Cuckoo-achoo.

I had to go run an errand today at work. I really wish I would have had a camera because I was driving and came across two dead squirrels in the middle of the road. I’m sure I would have looked like a huge sick-o if I had taken a picture but what are the chances of two dead squirrels! Right next to each other! I kind of imagine a Romeo and Juliet type situation. Squirrel style. Those two little star crossed misled furballs.

So, since *we* are on the subject of dead animals. Remember that big rant I had a few weeks ago? Remember? The one about bottled water? And how I am so kind to the earth? And such a good liberal? Where is it at… oh HERE it is. I have been doing really good. I think in the last two months I have bought one bottled water. Last week I went to pull a glass from the tap and… my water taste like dead fish. Oh, and smells like it. IT IS GROSS!!! And it’s not going away! I have been so dehydrated because I can’t drink stinky fish water! Or bottled water! Oh what a conundrum. I did buy a gallon of water last weekend because I feared death. Okay, I really feared the nasty-ass taste that my water leaves in my mouth. Blasted. What should go first, my morals or my taste buds?

is that last post so big? I have been trying to fix it for thirty minutes? Oh well, I guess I am THAT excited.

Yeah I watched the game last night. Did you question me? Of course I did- a die hard fan like me…

… Okay, I’m exaggerating. I did watch it though. Like 30 minutes of it… and then I fell asleep. Now I’m aware almost every person I know is probably shaking their head right now that I’m such a loser KU fan- but honestly this is the most attention I have ever given KU basketball… ever. And really, I’m paying attention because it’s expected of me- and I am still paying those mo-fo’s at KU for that education I received years ago. I found out yesterday there is a KU bar a couple miles from my house. A KU BAR! IN MINNESOTA! HOW COOL IS THAT! You know I have to go, it’s expected of me. And I better drink a few beers. It is what is expected. :) A KU alum has duties, ya know.

I have beat Slash on medium level. Okay, I didn’t but I was close. Matt did though. Hey! I beat Tom Morello on medium and got a FOUR during Bulls on Parade. Yep. I’m cool.

So, we bought Guitar Hero III. It was ten dollars cheaper at Costco then other stores… how could we pass up the bargain! It’s been pretty fun. Here are a few highlights:

  • I have an appreciation for Guns N Roses now. Slash KICKS ASS! I just listen to Sweet Child of Mine on the radio and I was AMAZED.
  • Matt and me have been playing every night this week after Ella goes to bed. Normally, I take my baths after Ella goes to bed. My hygiene MAY be compromised.
  • We play Guitar Hero after Ella goes to bed for a reason. A few months ago we rented Guitar Hero III from Blockbuster and one Saturday afternoon we played it while Ella messed around with her Barbies. I really didn’t think she was paying attention to the game. The next day she drew a picture of the devil playing a guitar with flames behind him. Kinda weird little portrait for a 4 year old.

Things are fine here. I’m not going to apologize for not posting. I always do that. (okay, I am going to apologize, SORRY!) Things are going good. I was busy, busy this weekend. I know, that was like five days ago, but I had PLANS! I helped my cousin and her husband finish their basement, which was actually quite fun! I hung drywall, and puttied nail holes and in general got to hang out with a lot of my family I rarely get to see. Matt, Ella and me also went out to eat with some of my friends from back in my AmeriCorps days. Its super exciting because they just moved to Minneapolis from Seattle! Just like we did! Now we can all sit around and complain.

  • It was two years ago, yesterday that we rolled into Minneapolis ourselves from that big half country move. Happy anniversary Minneapolis!
  • It snowed like 8 inches on Monday. Yeah, for real. But today is 50!!
  • This weekend we have minimal plans. Oh wait, no. We have big plans. Plans to be a MEDIUM LEVEL GUITAR HEROES!

***air guitar!***Yeah, Welcome to the jungle!
